Microsoft has announced the RTM build of Office 2010 RTM which is build 14.0.4763.1000. Microsoft Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 has reached the Release to Manufacturing Milestone. Takeshi Numoto, corporate vice president for Microsoft Office, declared on the Microsoft Office 2010 Engineering blog “RTM is the final engineering milestone of a product release and our engineering team has poured their heart and soul into reaching this milestone.” With Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft is including Web-based versions of the core Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

Microsoft Office 2010 Products are available to MSDN and TechNet subscriber for Download since 22 April 2010 while Office 2010 will first become available in retail stores in June in the US, and customers can pre-order these retail versions of Office 2010 at http://store.microsoft.com/OfficePreorder now to receive Office when it becomes available

Microsoft & Facebook announced a social online word processing at Facebook’s developer conference is Docs.com. Docs.com is a way to discover, create, and share Microsoft Office documents with your Facebook friends. The Docs app Built on Microsoft Office 2010, enables Facebook users for the first time to create and share Microsoft Office documents directly with their Facebook friends.

Docs.com and its Facebook app brings together the best of ‘software’ with the best of ‘services’. Documents can be created directly within the app, or can be uploaded from your PC. After starting work on a document alone, you might then choose a few others with whom to share it.

Docs.com is launched in beta phase and they are gradually allowing people to create and upload their own documents. You may register and Join the wait list and they will notify you when these features become available to you.
