Microsoft (MS) Office 2010 Release Candidate (RC) with build version number of v14.0.4734.1000 had been released to Microsoft Connect on February 4, 2010 to selected few beta testers who are members of TAP (Technology Adoption Program). As usual, the setup installer of the Office 2010 RC builds, both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64), has been leaked to Internet for free download via torrents. This time, the leak is by SoLoR at MDL Forums.

With “leak” means that Microsoft never intend to make the build public. The Office 2010 RC build 14.0.4734.1000 (4634.1000) is even newer than the Office 2010 Pre-RTM Escrow Build 14.0.4730.1007 leaked previously. The editions of Office 2010 available on Connect is Office Professional Plus 2010, which makes up of the following standalone Office applications:

  • Microsoft Word 2010
  • Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 with Business Contact Manager
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2010
  • Microsoft OneNote 2010
  • Microsoft Access 2010
  • Microsoft SharePoint Workspace 2010
  • Microsoft InfoPath 2010
  • Microsoft Publisher 2010
  • Microsoft Office Web Apps
  • Microsoft Communicator
  • Integrated solution capabilities such as enterprise content management (ECM), electronic forms, and information rights and policy capabilities

Unfortunately, the released Office 2010 RC is of retail distribution channel with ProductID indicator (instead of Proplus for volume channel) in setup-related XML files, which means the setup installer will ask for a product key to be entered prior to start the installation process. Without a valid product key (the free Office 2010 Beta product keys no longer work), user cannot install the software program at all.

Update: Volume edition of Office 2010 RC (RTM Escrow) Build 4734.1000 which does not require product key to install, and now there is a activation crack to activate Office 2010.
